I need to make another post and backdate for last Monday since I really want to talk about how stupid the events of that day were. Maybe later :)

Man 2009 is almost out the door. I have to work and that sucks major ass. I can't not go today or I would screw myself out of holiday pay. I really wish they would change the policy. You only get it now if you are scheduled to work on the day of the holiday. I have had to work Thanksgiving, Christmas, and now I have to work New Years eve and day. The least they could do is not penalize you if you don't come the day before or the day after (one or the other, not both lol). I can't even celebrate early.

Anyhow, I hope 2010 is better than 2009. Maybe I will find something other than this dead end job. I can only hope for the best :)

If anyone is wondering, or even cares, the title of this post means have a good new year.

I haven't gone in since Friday. I have legitimate reasons mind you, but I really don't care if I ever go back. I seriously need to find something to do. I have so many problems and it is really such a hassle getting to and from work since its not here in town. I wish I could move back to Georgia. Maybe once my brother's living situation is back on track I will go stay with him and then find a job there. I need a change. I'd want my mom to come with me too though but she probably won't until the guy she's taking care of finally dies or she becomes unable to care for him any longer (which will seem more likely to happen than him dying).

I really don't have much to say today. I need to get back into web design and such. I'd much prefer being my own boss again you know. Working a day job sucks ass. More later...

I still have nothing to show for it. A few years ago, December 2005 to be exact, I had written myself a letter to be e-mailed to me when I turned 29. I remember writing it but I didn't remember what I wrote. Pretty depressing really. Anyway, here is the message:

--
Dear FutureMe,

Well, today is the day you turn 29. Nothing at all special about this year but there is one thing in particular I want to address. Are you doing well financially? How about your health? You really should get something done about your absurdly high blood pressure. I know you've heard it a million times but hypertension is the silent killer of black people. I sincerely hope you have not died yet. That would suck very much. Today is the deadline of the promise you made to visit Japan. Have you accomplished it? I hope that you have. I also hope you went back to school and got some sort of degree. You should be running your own business by now or at least in the beginning stages of it. Remember that you do not want to grow old if you are poor, unhappy and constantly struggling. I hope that your nephew Devante and your niece Keyonna are both prospering and so are their parents.

Is mother still among the land of the living? She will have turned 54 this year. No matter what, you should always try to take care of her. Even if your brother and sister abandon her, you should not be like them. You've always been the one who cares the most in the family. Sadly you are also the most unfortunate one, despite being the smartest in the family. Sometimes you will have to harden that soft heart of yours to get ahead in life. Your brother and sister already know this, which is why they are doing much better than you are (but I think that has more to do with them being selfish than anything perhaps). It is my greatest hope of all that by the time you get this message, you will not be struggling so hard and are capable of living an easy-going life.

Ah, one last thing...how is Susumu? :)
--

Well, I guess I will start answering my own questions. I live paycheck to paycheck so my finances totally suck. I haven't been to the doctor in over a year and have been off of my high blood pressure meds longer than that. I also have diabetes, which I did not know back in 2005. Not to mention some sort of issue with my kidneys that the doctor was unable to explain other than saying something was abnormal. I wasn't able to make it to Japan and it does not look like I ever will so I have given up on that. I stopped going to school and I'm 3 courses away from an associates in business but I don't feel like taking classes anymore either. As far as my business, I have let that go by the wayside mostly as well. I wasn't able to make enough to quit my day job due to financial issues so it is on the back burner. My nephew Devante is doing fine. He's a really bright young man but I don't talk to him much. Keyonna is doing fine as well and she has 2 younger sisters with another sibling on the way. My brother and his wife are separated for right now, who knows if they are doing to get back together. It just happened recently though. My mom is still living and morbid as ever. I saw her today and she made me dinner. It was very good. We had bbq, collard greens, cornbread, and potato salad. There was carrot cake too but I was too full to eat any.

Last but not least, Susumu is doing well too. I have 6 cats now. I started with her and got a boy cat named Sonar. I waited too long to get him fixed so Susumu got knocked up lol and well I didn't want to get rid of any of her babies so I kept all 4.

Anyhow, nothing at all of note has been going on this year. I still work at a call center for at&t customer service. I've been sick with a cold though and didn't go in Friday. I doubt I will feel like going Monday either. I'm really so tired of working there but I haven't found anything else *sigh*

Man that was a great movie. I seriously love Alan Rickman. Sigourney Weaver was great as well. I watched it for the first time a couple of days ago. I've watched it 5 times now, that's just how touching this movie is. Near the end I was sobbing like crazy, which is not hard accomplish when I watch anything slightly approaching sad nowadays. I use to never cry over movies and now I can't not cry. I'm so silly I guess.

On another note, I saw another great movie that was a thriller called Eden Lake. I highly recommend this movie. It isn't for the faint of heart though. The ending was really wrong too. I would definitely buy, rent, download or whatever you have to do to watch this movie.

I wanted to go to work today but I couldn't get anybody to pick me up. I really need to look for another fucking job. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they told me I was fired when (and if) I make it in Monday.

Anyway, that's all I have to say for now.

Anyhow I don't have anything major to say. I'm still working in a call center. They are firing people like crazy. I'm wondering when I will be next. I'm surprised I haven't been fired by now but I feel like it could happen at any moment. That's what I hate about at will bullshit. You can get fired for no reason at all. I'm sure if I did get fired it would be valid, as I've missed a ton of days for personal reasons. We are using a different billing system now too. It's not new but the company has decided to retire one of the ones they were using to stop the madness. That's all well and good but how can you really expect people to know what the hell they are doing when you have only two days of training. I can tell you now, I didn't learn much. Oh well though.

Man, its been a while since I last blogged. I guess I haven't because absolutely nothing at all has been happening. Its the same old same old. I go to work, come home, sleep, get up and go back to work. It sucks but there isn't really anything of interest to even do here in Kansas other than watch the grass grow.

I do have one slightly interesting post to make on ds lite replacement cases. I dropped my ds a couple of weeks ago and the damn hinge broke. My primary use for the ds is to listen to music while I am at work so I was very upset. I decided to buy a replacement shell. Its cute. Its gold with the zelda triforce on it. I'm sure if you google it you would find an image of it.

I know a lot of people out there are probably considering replacing their cases for vanity and not out of necessity but I can tell you, it's not for the faint of heart. My case arrived around 10a.m. this morning (with no instructions!) and I finally got it together by 6p.m. after much frustration and swearing. I'm confident that I would be able to change out the case a lot quicker should this happen again. All of those tiny pieces were such a hassle to deal with. I'm surprised I got the left and right buttons to even work the first time. Did I tell you I didn't have ANY instructions?? NOTHING! I took my old case apart and hoped for the best and it worked out (eventually...).

Anyhow, it is nice not having a case that someone around here is likely to have. I plan on working tomorrow to get in some extra hours and I'll get to show off the case. Everybody I sit next to knows I broke my old case and was waiting on a new one to come in. There was a dark case with flowers and I was considering getting that and changed my mind. I almost went with the Naruto one but bright orange really isn't my style :). More later...

I can't say much has gone on this year. I'm still working in a call center for at&t and it still sucks ass. I've been thinking of going back to school but I don't know if I ever will. I really don't care at this point.

The only memorable thing about this year is a friend of mine dying right before Thanksgiving. Her name was Victoria but if anyone knew her online, she went by the name gammonbrat. It was pretty unexpected, she had an aneurysm. Her husband Mauro told me when she had died. It was the Saturday before Thanksgiving. I went to a few places online to spread the word since I knew he wouldn't tell anyone but me and that's understandable.

Cybertown was the first chat room I hit. I remember when gammy started going there. I was really into vrml back then. Her first items were really simple but she started learning really quickly. Anyhow, I went to Cybertown and people actually asked me if I had an obituary to show them so they could 'publicly' announce it. I should have told them to go to hell if they didn't believe me. I don't care how bad your relationship may be, you aren't going to go out of your way to tell someone that your wife died if it weren't true. I was pretty much one of the few net friends who even knew she was back in the US. The last time I talked to her, she and Mauro were going out to the lake. She was joking around and such. I miss her a lot.

Anyway, I hope the year of the Ox is better than the year of the rat has been. With that being said...

It just hit me that I've had this blog for 4 years now. My life still sucks like hell though. I haven't made any improvements whatsoever. I think since 2004 very few things have changed with me other than moving to Kansas a couple of years ago. I'm still always broke and I still completely suck at go. You think I would have improved in 4 years but I haven't. Actually, I think I have managed to get even worse than the level of suck I was at 4 years ago (that's what happens when you barely play). *hangs head in shame*. At least I can say I have a goban now, not that I know anyone close to me who can play *sigh*

On another note, I got an order on my web store. I was very fucking surprised. Too bad the item they ordered is discontinued and out of stock lol. I had to e-mail the person and ask if they would be satisfied with an item that was similar to the one they wanted. I really need to update a lot of stuff. I'm just not in the mood though. I have to go through my website and delete all of the products that are discontinued. I also have to upgrade drupal. Hell, I need to upgrade movable type too but I'm way too fucking lazy. My blacklist script has mysteriously become fubar as well so now combating spam is even more tedious. I'll have to be content with closing the comment portion of old posts for now to make my life easier. Anyhow, more later.

Nothing much has been going on. I've had a pretty good past couple of days though. I went to work Friday out of sympathy for my poor manager who had to call everybody and ask people to come in for overtime. The iPhone was released Friday and the expected call volume would be a lot higher than normal. My entire day was nothing but irate at&t customers who were pissed off because they couldn't get the new iPhone. I think it's so hilarious that people actually think at&t should let them get a new phone at a discount whenever the hell they feel like getting a new phone. People were asking for supervisors left and right just to be told over and over that they can't get that piece of shit phone.

Today wasn't as fun as yesterday but it was still pretty amusing. I must say that the highlight of my day was a call I got 30 minutes or so before I had to leave from work. I had some lady who was getting a company discount call in bitching that the company is penalizing her for being a long-time customer. Because she gets a discount she has to upgrade in the at&t corporate store but they sold out of the devices pretty quick. She was just saying the same stuff over and over again and wanted to talk to the retention department because she's been with the company forever and shouldn't be treated like that blah blah blah etc. I finally had to tell the lady how sorry I was about the inconvenience but she can go to the corporate store and they would get a phone ordered for her. I told her that yes, you will have to wait a little longer to get it but the world will continue to turn. She started laughing in disbelief that I said something like that and asked me for my name and id. She had to be satisfied with my first name only though. I tell you, new apple products make their fanboys/girls turn into idiots if they can't have it immediately. I know one thing, I'm not going to stand in line anywhere for 4+ hours waiting to get something like that without calling and making sure I would be able to get the device at that particular location or not. I really have no sympathy for people like that. Get all of the god damn information before you go bitching and moaning about the unfair treatment you are getting. The world is not going to end just because you can't get the new iPhone within the first couple of weeks, I really promise you that it won't.

I just finished watching this movie and I thought it was great. This is really the first time I've watched Adam Sandler in a serious movie and I think he did an excellent job. I think this movie got some nominations but that's fucked up, this movie should have won some awards. That's the problem with all these movie awards, it's only the shit movies that win while the good ones get passed over. I remember when crash came out, it didn't win a thing either and it was a great movie.

In other goings on, I played go on KGS after a long absence there, I had to re-register my name and everything. I have really gotten rusty. I didn't enjoy the game at all because it was so poorly played. The guy I was playing against was pissing me off too. After I ended up resigning (out of frustration because he was pretty much suiciding on the board and would not resign nor listen to the suggestions I was making to him) he told me he was playing a teaching game with me and he just wanted to see if I would catch his mistakes. I told him that seriously doubt he is as strong as me (which is not saying much, I am a horribly weak player and what little understanding of the game I did have, I've probably lost since I haven't played in so long). I told him that I felt insulted by how he was playing. He promised to play a better game the next time though. If you want to see what a crap game it was, you can download it here. I will warn you though, even as 9x9 games go, it was quite terrible on both sides probably.

Seems like one thing after another keeps happening to me. I finally got moved into a new place. The floor plan is exactly the same as the other house I was in. The only difference in the two houses is that the landlord here takes better care of his properties. This place has central air and heat (that I never turn on but I have and it works fine) and the only room with carpet is the living room. The two bedrooms are hardwood floor and the kitchen and bathroom have that cheap tile stuff (but it looks decent). The bathroom has a shower too. The only thing the other landlord did was attach one of the shower heads in the tub but the walls were just paint so it got moldy. I would always hook the shower head over one of the bars since it was high enough. Who wants to sit in the tub and clean yourself. The rent here is higher, 575/mo but that's not too bad. He doesn't care about my cats either. There is a pet deposit I owe of 280 but I haven't paid it yet. I've been here since the beginning of the month. When I give him the rent for next month I will give him an extra 100 so I can slowly get the deposit paid off.

My car stopped working :-/ . I had it towed to the shop. The guy says the alternator went bad. He's charging me 380 to replace it. It's 150 something for the part and the rest is labor. I won't be able to pay him until I get paid Friday but it will be fixed by the end of today. Without a car I will have to pay someone to take me back and forth to work for the rest of this week. I'm flat broke too. I just did buy some more cat food. I ran completely out yesterday. More later.

My life has become completely chaotic lately. Around Dec 27 my landlord came over to cut some branches or some shit and he saw one of my cats in the window. Long story short, I have to move out. I don't know how much time he's going to give me either. I found a place that accepts pets BUT they don't accept cats. You know me though, I don't give a damn. I'll move in anyway. I called the rental agency and asked why no cats. The lady said some shit about how even if cats don't pee on the floor or anything they just leave an 'odor' on the carpet and they always have to put in new carpets. Well, that's all well and good except this particular house has NO carpet. It's all hardwood floors. What kind of shit is that. I'd rather them know that I have cats so that this situation doesn't happen again. It's so hard to find places that accept pets. The rent is 200 bucks more than what I'm currently paying but if I can keep my cats it will be worth it. Time for work, more later.

I didn't have much of a thanksgiving. I had to work. I don't know why the hell at&t would want call centers open on a major holiday. Pretty much all other departments were closed but customer service had to be open. I'd be waiting 30 minutes before I got a call. They were asking people if they wanted to go home by 5p.m. so I said why not. I don't feel like I got off early though. I should have stayed until 7p.m.

It's a cold day here in Kansas. I have the heat on but the heating system in this house is crap. There is only one big vent in the living room. At least the cats get to stay warm. I don't open my door to let the heat in because they will come in and destroy my room.

Nothing much has been going on. I get up, go to work, come home, rinse and repeat. Pretty boring life I guess. I work from morning to night so there isn't time to do anything. On my off days I just stay in bed and sleep. More later...perhaps.
